Art Classes SPRING 2014

APRIL

OPEN STUDIO EVERY MONDAY 10 AM - 3 PM
Keep a weekly art date! Free to members and friends of the center who want a place to paint with others. No instructor present, just time to paint, make new friends and share creativity.

KID’S ART CLASSES
Artist Richard Fenwick teaches art techniques with wet and dry media every Tuesday after school from 4-6 PM. Young artists aged 7-teens are welcome. $35 monthly fee includes supplies.

THE ART OF CALLIGRAPHY
Four Wednesdays, April 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 4-6 PM. $50 which will include supplies for new students OR $40 for returning students. An opportunity to learn the basics of calligraphy, or to continue your study of letters, using various pens and grades of paper. Beth Harrison, Instructor

BOB ROSS METHOD OIL PAINTING
Instructor Judy Stubb will lead experienced and inexperienced artists to complete an oil painting called Pathway to the Wilderness on Friday, April 11 from 10 AM-2PM. Bring lunch or a snack. $60 includes all supplies.

SPRING WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Saturday, April 12, 10 AM - 2PM. (bring a sack lunch or snack). $30 for the session. We will focus on fresh flowers using varieties in bloom at the time, observing reflections on glass and the refraction of light through water, learning to really “see” what we are looking at. I will also bring in an assortment of interesting “objects” from around my farm house and gardens to work with. Rust, glass, metal, lace, wood grain and stuff from the kitchen “junk drawers are all subjects worth considering. Join us to see the beauty in everyday objects. Supply list available. Floral Watercolor Workshop

BOB ROSS METHOD OIL PAINTING
Instructor Judy Stubb will lead experienced and inexperienced artists to complete an oil painting called Fisherman’s Trail on Tuesday, June 10 from 10 AM-2PM. Bring lunch or a snack. $60 includes all supplies.

WATERCOLOR SKETCHING ON LOCATION
Painting En Plein Air, painting outdoors, is a fun way to loosen up and paint with more freedom--i.e. sketching in watercolors. We will paint in natural settings using a quick, spontaneous approach. Subject matter will include trees, plants, park benches, buildings and other interesting items we can find. Wednesdays, June 11 and 18 from 12:30 PM -3:30 PM at a cost of $60. Rain date is June 25. Supply list available. Lydia Cooper, Instructor.

Young Artist Summer Classes

 

Class Registration Policy:
All class fees are due at the time of registration. Seniors receive a 10% discount on classes and members receive both a 10% discount on classes and 10% off supplies sold in our Paint Box Store.


Cancellation Policy:
The Center reserves the right to cancel a class four days prior to that class if a minimum number of students have not registered for that class and the instructor agrees. If the Center cancels the class, all fees will be returned.
